Service to others is how we serve God. FTMBC offers many ways to offer your time and talents to serve in our church, community, and God.
Credit Union
The Faith Baptist Church Federal Credit Union Ministry provides a safe place for members to save and borrow funds for any worthwhile purpose at a reasonable rate. Members can save and earn dividends on their savings. They can borrow needed funds at rates that are usually less than the rates charged by banks and other lenders. Unlike banks, the credit union is owned and operated by its members, who elect members to the Board of Directors.
First Aid/Nurses
The mission of the Nurses Ministry is to serve our Faith community and reflect the compassionate healing love of Jesus Christ through the promotion of health and wholeness of body, mind, and spirit for all our church family. Healing Scriptures for Heart Disease
Ps. 27:14 Wait upon the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait I say, on the Lord. (This is to rest) Ps. 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Ps. 31:24 Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. Ps. 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. Prov. 4:24 Keep thy heart will all diligence; out of it are the life issues. Prov. 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like medicine: but a broken drieth the bones.
Greeters & Hospitality Ministries
Greeters & Hospitality Ministries continue to ensure parishioners witness and experience God’s unconditional love in the Body of Christ at FTMBC. Our biblical reference Hebrews 13:2 -“Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it” {NLT} truly reflects our purpose. Greeters are the first point of contact with the congregation; therefore, we wholeheartedly serve in the spirit of love! Greeters ensure parishioners see and experience God’s unconditional love in the Body of Christ at FTMBC. The FTMBC Greeters serve during all worship services, Homegoing services, and special events within and outside the confines of FTMBC. We also help visitors to form a positive first impression of FTMBC; hence, we continue to strive toward providing the “Faith Street Sweet, Sweet, Spirit” to all who attend/visit our church. We graciously accept the responsibility, and it is our goal to make everyone feel welcome and accepted, complementing the work of the ushers and Deacons. Our primary function is to support our Ushers Ministry, Deacons, Trustees, and Church administration.
Pastor’s Aid Ministry
Pastor’s Aide Ministry provides and/or assists the pastor with whatever he needs or requests to carry out God’s mission of shepherding His people. The ministry also supports the Pastor spiritually and emotionally through various activities and services that enhance the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This ministry spearheads the church’s efforts in celebrating the pastor’s anniversary, birthday, and other special occasions. Overall, the Pastor’s Aide Ministry extends spiritual care to the “angel” God sent to Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
Ushers Ministry (Men, Women, Junior)
The usher’s primary purpose is to SERVE. The cornerstone of ushering is COMMITMENT. Our goal is to exemplify Christ and our church through our service. The ministry of ushering is one of welcoming and caring for the congregation. The duties of the usher are simple but important. They include welcoming the congregation members, assisting in seating, collecting and presenting the offerings, helping in emergency situations involving safety, and assisting in the service upon request. The ushers also distribute bulletins and clean up the church pews at the end of each service. At ages 6-13, Junior Ushers serve during Children’s Church and in the sanctuary on fifth Sundays with the women and men ushers.
