Rev Lord

Reverend D Stanley Lord has developed onto one of Connecticut's foremost preachers, distinguished by his fervent worship, dynamic preaching, leadership, youth and season adult program developer.

Reverend Lord has helped foster the growth and advancement of many communities as both youth and senior program developer and humanitarian, He has served as an administrator and managed community service, religious and spiritual life programs at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and his home church Shiloh Baptist Church, New Rochelle, NY, and the community. In these positions, Reverend Lord developed programs that aid under-resourced youth and senior communities, including New Rochelle, NY, Stamford, Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, and Bloomfield, CT, and the areas ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.

During his time at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, from November 1987 to present Lord has served as Assistant to the Pastor, and Dean of Bible Institute. As Dean, Reverend Lord felt that Faith needed to offer more opportunities for Bible instruction and he developed and implemented a Bible Institute that offers different courses throughout the week. As a lead member of the Budget Committee, Reverend Lord has worked to establish stronger fiscal responsibility to change the mindset of the committee. Reverend Lord's commitment to building revenue has led to the reduction in the level for member-based funding of the mortgage. As the organizer Director of the Seasoned Adult Ministry (S. A M,), Reverend Lord provided activities and social events for the senior members of the church and community. Reverend Lord also serves as advisor to the Men's Ministry Christian Men In Action (CMIA) and the Christian Education Ministry. In 1989 Reverend Lord developed a Youth Ministry to meet the needs of the youth. As Youth Minister, Reverend Lord developed programs and activities to develop growth and leadership skills. Reverend Lord also implemented a Youth Worship Service on the forth Sunday of each month. The youth participate during morning worship. Currently Reverend Lord is coordinating a National Man 2 Man Conference 2012-13.

During his time at his home church, Shiloh Baptist Church, New Rochelle, NY he was licensed in 1983. While at Shiloh Reverend Lord was a Junior Deacon and organized and directed the Young Adult Choir and served as the Director of Christian Education Ministry.
While Reverend Lord was the founder, Director and Head Coach of the Lord's Striders, he emerged as one of the nation's leading youth coaches in Track & Field. In 1999 Reverend Lord was named the East Region Coach of The Year of the USAFT (USA Track & Field governing body). Through this program over 250 youth were able to attend college on scholarship. The Lord's Striders were able to procure over $1,000,000.00 in scholarship monies for its members. Reverend Lord was raised in New Rochelle, New York. During his undergraduate years at Kansas University, Reverend Lord served as the Vice President of the Black Student Union. In addition, he was active in the United Campus Ministry and Baptist Student Union, served as a residence hall assistant, became an All-America Track & Field athlete.

Reverend Lord attended lona College where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1985. Reverend Lord is currently a student at His Excellence Theological Seminary, Newburgh, NY.

Reverend Lord is the son of the late Luke Woods, Sr. & Reverend Dr. Mary Largie. His twin brother, Dr. Stuart C. Lord, is the new President of Naropa College, Boulder, Colorado.
