Minister Staggs

At the age of 6 Wayne sang at his first funeral singing "Precious Lord Take My Hand"

He played for his first church at age 12, Zion Hill Baptist Church, Inman, SC where his grandfather Emmanuel Staggs was an integral part of the birth of the church, Chairman of the Deacon Board for over 50 years.

At the age of 16, Wayne played for his first wedding.

He also played for several churches in the Spartanburg, SC area Maxwell Chapel Baptist Church, Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Golden Street Baptist Church, and Saint Paul Baptist Church.

Wayne has worked with various gospel college choirs in South Carolina such as Converse College and University of South Carolina. He has had the opportunity to accompany several R&B bands, and the privilege of working with some of the great artists in Gospel music such as: the late Rev. James Cleveland who introduced him at a young age to the Gospel Music Workshop of America. Wayne also had the honor of singing with Edwin Hawkins and Richard Smallwood.

Presently he is working on writing and recording songs. In addition to being a Minister of Music, he’s also a Wedding Coordinator, Tailor, Event Planner, Soloist, Pianist, and Music Teacher.

In June of 1999, he moved to Connecticut to live with his sister Jackie where the first church he played for was Jesus Saves Ministry.
Other Churches were: First Baptist Church, Stratford, CT, Grace Baptist Church, Norwalk, CT, Seventh Day Adventist Church, New York.
Wayne also worked in the school system as a Music Teacher for several years.

Wayne is now the Minister of Music for Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Stamford, CT under the leadership of Dr. Tommie Jackson.
